The federal agency detailed in a statement that it burned the drug in Culiacán, capital of the northern state of Sinaloa, in a company specialized in the destruction of this type of substances.

“The Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR), through its Federal Prosecutor’s Office in Nuevo León, complied with the Narcotics Destruction Program and the provisions of the National Code of Criminal Procedure by incinerating 64 kilos 300 milligrams of fentanyl, related to seven research files”, he said.

The actions were carried out on September 27, when the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office, with the support of experts in forensic chemistry and photography in coordination with the Federal Ministerial Police (PFM) of the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) and the National Guard, moved the narcotic for destruction.

The inquiry was conducted in the city of Culiacán, Sinaloa, in the presence of the staff of the FGR’s Internal Control Body, who oversaw the process.
